- arxes Information Design Berlin GmbH Customer specific software solutions are offered for applications in diagnostics, process analysis, and automation. The offerings include client-/server applications, PC-, Web- and Office programming. Strategic consulting, system analysis as well as implementation and training complement the portfolio. Moreover, Arxes disposes of comprehensive experiences and know-how in marketing, project management, multiserving networking, secure internetworking, and IT infrastructure solutions.
- dresden elektronik ingenieurtechnik gmbh Core competencies include electronic development and manufacturing. With the inhouse test laboratory a broad spectrum of EMC testing, electrical, climatic and optical examinations can be carried out. Main products are industrial control applications, field bus networking, sensor techniques, wireless data transmission (ZigBee), electronic control and test systems, traffic monitoring.
- IMA Materialforschung und Anwendungstechnik GmbH Services and R&D are offered for material, component and product testing respectively assessment. Special competencies have been acquired for examinations of aircraft components.
- Microelectronic Packaging Dresden GmbH MPD develops and manufactures customized microelectronic systems, components, and modules. For the production of semiconductor components and sensors with most modern techniques, MPD has clean rooms of classes 100 to 100.000. MPD develops system solutions for CMOS camera systems and pressure sensors. Quantities are ranging from a few prototypes to small series to up to several million pieces per year. The products are used in the automotive, medical and safety engineering industries as well as in the electronic industry.
- Productivity Engineering Gesellschaft für IC Design mbH Productivity Engineering Gesellschaft für IC Design mbH develops customer specific Integrated Circuits (Microchips). This includes specification, feasibility studies, consultancy, development of mixed signal und analog IP (Intellectual Property) components and IC's as well as development of digital IP components and IC's based on hardware descriptions. The layout of Integrated Circuits can be designed. Backed by the mother company, the complete logistics is offered.
- Teletronic Rossendorf GmbH Main working areas comprise flow measuring techniques (e. g. grid sensors, needle probes), medical electronics, measuring, automation and control techniques as well as sensor electronics and processing of acoustical signals. Respective core competencies concern analog measuring electronics, signal processing with digital signal processors and storage technologies for large data volumes, as well as solving interface problems.
- ZMD AG Main competencies concern the development and fabrication of temperature sensors, optical sensors, sensor signal transducers RFID, ZigBee, sensor interfaces, ASI bus ICs and ASI bus ICs.
Application-oriented research
Leading research institutions offer development and transfer services:
- Fraunhofer Institute for Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP Main working areas are vacuum coatings, surface processing and treatment with electrons and plasmas by electron beam technology, pulse magnetron sputtering and plasma activated high rate evaporation. Particularly for these techniques, plasma and electron beam sources are developed.
- Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, Branch Lab Design Automation Mainly, research and development services are provided in computer-aided design of electronic and heterogeneous systems. Hereby, especially methods and tools for modelling, simulation, synthesis, optimization, verification and test are realized and hardware-software-systems ("embedded systems") are developed. Application areas may be micro- and nanoelectronics, communications engineering, mechatronics, microsystem engineering, and automation engineering.
- Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS Topics of research are: sensors and sensor systems, integrated sensor/actor systems, microscanner mirrors, micromirror arrays for deflection of light and adaptive optics, organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), image transmission and processing systems, IC design.
- Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing, Dresden branch IZFP-D Among the main competencies are sensor systems for structural health monitoring, sensor systems for geophysics, and optical sensors and diagnostics. A sensor system is not the single sensor, but the unity of several sensors, read-out electronics, analog-digital-conversion, data transmission, standard data interfaces, telemetry and data evaluation.
