Milestone 2 with Project Meeting in Freital, October 7-8, 2005

Five task forces have been established, each jointly co-ordinated by a company and a research institute, which are responsible for planning the work and enforcement of equal reliability standards.

Milestone 1, September 2005

The network has been focussed on supply of sensor systems for Structural Health Monitoring. Long-term basis of common system developments is given by the set-up of a common technology platform for sensor systems; both a product and a technology catalog had been drafted.

Winner in Project Competition (June 1, 2005)

Netzwerkmanagement-Ost (NEMO) is a funding program of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. It is intended to initiate new impulses for the formation and development of innovative networks in the economics in the Neuen Ländern (former East Germany).

The project SENSORIK-Netzwerk was one of the winners which were awarded on occasion of the 12. Innovationstag Mittelstand on June 1, 2005. It is co-ordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing, Dresden branch: 8 companies from Saxony are to join forces as a competence center and to develop a technology platform for sensors for Structural Health Monitoring.

Foundation August 23, 2004

Dresden as a favourite location of semiconductor industry is predestined for research, development and production of sensors and complex sensor systems as a key element of future innovations. On account of this, the Fraunhofer Institutes for Nondestructive Testing (IZFP), Photonic Microsystems (IPMS), and Ceramic Technologies and Sintered Materials (IKTS) in co-operation with the University of Technology Dresden have decided to establish a virtual department, which aims at setting up a competence network for sensors in Dresden.

This network is open to Saxon industry and Saxon research institutions and is meant for promotion, co-ordination and focussing of activities in research, development and production of sensors and sensor systems.
