Netzwerkmanagement-Ost (NEMO) is a funding program of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
It is intended to initiate new impulses for the formation and development of innovative networks in the economics
in the Neuen Ländern (former East Germany). The project SENSORIK-Netzwerk was one of the winners which were awarded on occasion of the 12. Innovationstag Mittelstand on June 1, 2005. It is co-ordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing, Dresden branch: 8 companies from Saxony are to join forces as a competence center and to develop a technology platform for sensors for Structural Health Monitoring. |

Dresden as a favourite location of
semiconductor industry is predestined for research,
development and production of sensors and complex sensor
systems as a key element of future innovations. On account of
this, the Fraunhofer Institutes for Nondestructive Testing
(IZFP), Photonic Microsystems (IPMS), and Ceramic Technologies and
Sintered Materials (IKTS) in co-operation with the
University of Technology Dresden have decided to establish a
virtual department, which aims at setting up a competence
network for sensors in Dresden.
